For most of us, summer in Europe means sunbathing on a Greek island, sipping cocktails on the French Riviera, enjoying Portugal's dramatic coastline and eating all of the gelato Italy has to offer. And honestly, there's absolutely nothing wrong about it!
However, the European North is also worth exploring during summer, when temperatures are ideal and days are long, as the sun comes out a bit too early in the morning and doesn't go to sleep before 10pm!
A couple of months ago, we visited Northern Europe and made a 3 day stop at Finland, a country which really surprised us with its beautiful, serene landscape. We visited Repovesi National Park, one out of Finland's nearly 40 national parks, took a drive from Helsinki to Hartola, making sure to stop for photos every few kilometres and spent a few hours in the picturesque town of Porvoo.
So, here are some of our favourite snaps, all the way from Finland with love...
On our way from Helsinki to Hartola, we took a smooth hike at Repovesi National Park ...

Once in Hartola, our home for the night was one of Airbnb's prettiest properties we've ever stayed at (which you can see here). We got to take a dip into our yard's lake, explore Hartola's surroundings and watch the sky being on fire, while the sun was giving its place to the moon...

On our last day in Finland, we took the way back to Helsinki with a short stoppover at Porvoo, one of the country's most picture perfect towns...
